Portable Document Format (PDF)The Adobe® Reader is required to view SURS documents that are stored in the Portable Document Format (PDF). If you do not have a PDF Reader installed on your computer, you can download it free from the Adobe website. Follow Adobe´s instructions for downloading and installation.* Printing Tips"I can only print the first page of the document."Make sure you are using the print button on your Acrobat Reader toolbar (rather than going to File, Print) and selecting the Print As Image option (usually on the right) in the Print window. In Adobe Reader 6.0 and 7.0: Click on the printer icon in the Reader toolbar. Click on Advanced in the lower left corner of the Print window. Then, check the box next to Print as image in the Advanced Print Setup window and click OK. For long documents, you may find it beneficial to print a few pages instead of the entire document. This can be done by clicking the print button and then entering the beginning and ending PDF pages under the "Print Range" option. Note: The PDF page numbers can be found at the bottom of the browser window and they sometimes differ from the page number printed on the document. Security, Certificates, and SignaturesIn 2003, SURS began securing PDF documents with "Self-Signed Digital IDs" to allow members to verify the integrity of downloaded publications. To check the authenticity of a document, simply check the certificate´s MD5 or SHA-1 fingerprints against those shown below. For Documents Dated 2003 – 2007MD5 fingerprint For Documents Dated 2008 – 2013MD5 fingerprintOnce you have validated the SURS certificate, you can choose to "trust the identity" and all future SURS documents will be considered VALID. Note: These processes vary by program, please consult the help file of your PDF reading application for more specific information. TroubleshootingIf you click on a link to a PDF file and then are not able to view it, you may need to upgrade to version 5 or higher of the Acrobat Reader. More information is available from the Adobe Support Knowledgebase.* SURS is not responsible for any hardware or software problems resulting from the installation of browser and plug-in software.
